I don't agree with all the author says--I tend to be an unapologetic spelling martinet--but I do agree with her principles and I like her suggestions.
Matthew the super reader could probably come up with his own stories with just a little brainstorming.
Jamie Beth, my reluctant scholar, would love to write if I gave her more interesting pens and paper.
Dallin likes using scissors, so cutting out words to make sentences is right up his alley.
Nate already writes on the walls, so he doesn't need additional help to express himself.

I've been encouraging my boys to write more often. Neither of them loves it, but I can tell they have improved in just these couple of months of summer. I just made a goal to write more often, and am currently working on an essay inspired by "Wit." Thanks for sharing all your wonderful ideas!
Oh man...seriously I feel sheepish! Have my kids picked up a pencil since school let out...oh yes, their was that one that Henry used to demonstrate how to poke out Lydia's eyeballs....
I guess it is a start!!
