A little inspiration.

When I saw this picture as I flipped through the Eddie Bauer catalog, I made an instant decision: I'm taking yoga. I have never taken an exercise class, really never exercised (unless I count dancing with kids or putting the shopping cart away), and honestly, never had a desire to work out and sweat and hurt. However, I have enjoyed every dance class I've ever taken, mainly because I love the feeling of control and balance. So, maybe that's why a graceful, peaceful pose struck my fancy.

I'm writing this post partly to be accountable for my sudden burst of interest in exercise. Be sure to bug me until I follow through.

(And, by the way, when I tried this pose to show Matt what I was talking about, I flopped right over.)

Where are you going to take the class? And when? And how much? And do you have to have the outfit already? I need more details.

I wouldn't exercise if I were you either. You totally don't need to. That said, I've only taken a couple yoga classes and they were much harder than I thought they would be. Good luck and I can't wait to hear what you think of it.

Ooooh, Cissy. Can't wait to hear what you think. Yoga is so Zen.

I totally agree with Eden. You should do it - I love Yoga. However, I've never done the pose in that picture - it looks pretty hard.

try holding that pose without holding onto your ankle but keeping your leg that high and then stand on top of your toes...i find that's an extra push in building muscle!!! you can feel it in your lower back especially and if you reach with an upturned chin (like you're looking out at your hand) you will increase your core strength...or, hold onto the back of a couch to steady yourself if you can't balance. that way you will double your workout from one pose

If I could be skinny without exercising, I'm sure I wouldn't do it either. That said, I love yoga especially with a good teacher who includes different poses at each class. Good luck with your new goal!
